What does it take to make a good sales manager?

 

From experience I do not think there is a simple answer to this. Above all it depends on the situation the company is in. Whilst a fast growing market may require to move swiftly with a focus mostly on external issues, it will be just the contrary for a mature market where you should balance things carefully before moving, an internal organizational issues will become more critical. This oversimplifies the reality of course.

 

In practice, a good sales manager should be able to analyze the situation of his company, and adapt his management style accordingly.
